Now That Okada Riders Have Been Banned in Lagos

Okada (motorcycles) transport is becoming a history in Lagos, many people who rely on that form of transport are wondering what will happen to them. Some people pay as much as 1,200 naira each day using this means of transport because they couldn’t stand the traffic jam that rears its ugly head along many Lagos roads.

In the past, there have been many accusations against government allowing Okada motorcycles as means of transport in Lagos, as many reports of crime have been committed in the name of these transport Okadas. A few people also believe that Okada contributes negatively to the issue of traffic jams in the state.

There have been several accusations on the part of the riders that the state governor hates them and is humiliating them by treating them as animals, not humans.

Now that the Okadas have been banned, people are terrified in Lagos that a new surge of criminal activities will emerge in the state. So the state government is called upon to allow the Okadas to operate in certain areas where transport vehicles don’t reach so that the suffering of Lagosians will reduce.
