Checklist Movie Highlights: 'The Lion King' Steals The Show

In accordance with reports from Monday’s box office numbers, Washington Post revealed the following: “The Lion King” has officially surpassed “The Phantom of the Opera” as Broadway’s highest grossing show of all time. Should Simba decide to celebrate, as I think all of us would, by withdrawing those proceeds from the bank in single dollar bills and jumping in the giant pool of money, he’d be rolling around in a pile of $853,846,062.

In case you haven't seen the movie, have a look at the spoof above. Reports also said that up to 800 Kansans waited in line 6 hours before the box office opened in order to get tickets which started at $35 and spiraled up to $135, making it the Broadway's biggest show.

The Lion King was released in 1994.
